Commemorating the Martyrdom of John Huss

As Americans, we should daily thank God for our freedom, and honor those who laid its foundation. While we often recall the Revolutionary War and our nation's founding, today, July 6th, we commemorate the martyrdom of John Huss (Jan Hus), 610 years ago. Executed for his faith in the Bible's authority and the Protestant Reformation's core belief — the priesthood of all believers — Huss championed the biblical doctrine that every believer has direct access to God, independant of any king or pope's authority.
